Little-known fact: Last year's Forgetting Sarah Marshall is totally the best movie that Judd Apatow's vast crew of misfits has yet produced. And now we have yet another reason to look forward to Get Him to the Greek, the forthcoming Sarah Marshall spinoff: Jarvis!
Greek will revolve around Aldous Snow, the sexed-out rock star character that British comedian Russell Brand played to perfection in Sarah Marshall. And according to a Billboard report, Jarvis Cocker has written three songs that Brand's character will sing. Given that vast swaths of Cocker's recent Further Complications could've easily come out of Snow's mouth (I'm thinking "I Never Said I Was Deep", especially), this is a perfect match.
Cocker tells Billboard that his songs for the movie are "really silly, but it's a silly film." Well, I hope so! Greek is due in 2010. It will also star Jonah Hill, Rose Byrne, Aziz Ansari, Katy Perry, and Diddy, according to IMDB.
